The Institute for Alternative Futures offers internship opportunities. We are looking for curious and forward-thinking individuals from a variety of perspectives, interested in helping communities and organizations choose more wisely and create the futures they prefer. In our small think-tank and consulting environment, interns learn futures skills they can use no matter what career(s) they ultimately pursue. Interns will work individually and with IAF staff to research and write on key trends and developments in a wide variety of issues related to the future. Full-time and part-time internships are available, and the specific dates are negotiable. The internship is open to graduate students and recent graduates, as well as those with a few years of work experience. The internship is unpaid, though we do offer a stipend to cover commuting expenses. If you are interested in applying, please email a cover letter, resume, and writing sample to email@example.com and put “Intern Application – [your last name]” in the subject line. Please address your cover letter to the Institute and include:
We will consider applications on a rolling basis.
Please note that for international applicants, IAF expects the applicant to take responsibility and the lead for getting a visa. Upon request, IAF can provide documentation for this purpose, such as a formal letter of acceptance to the internship program.
